Hybrid technology had played such an important role in recent years that it has spawned partnerships between seemingly unlikely partners. Two such partners that collaborated on hybrid technology were BMW and Daimler. Having worked together to cut costs on important fuel-savings technology, the partnership appears to be coming to a close, despite continued cooperation on other initiatives such as vehicle safety technology.
In recent reports, it appears as though BMW has expressed doubts about the future of their two-mode hybrid system partnership. According to used BMW Los Angeles dealers, sources suggest that the doubt stems from other potential partnerships that BMW may take advantage of as a cost savings over dealing with Mercedes-Benz.
Despite BMW’s supposed reluctance to continue its hybrid partnership, Daimler seems to want the cooperation to continue. Again cost savings is the main reason says Mercedes Benz Service Pittsburgh, as Mercedes-Benz is hoping to include this two-mode hybrid system on numerous vehicles in its lineup, such as on the S400 and the ML450. That being said, Mercedes Benz Repar Alexandria points out that the embrace of hybrid technology has not stalled development on the automaker’s first electric car.
For Daimler, hybrid technology continues to be an important component of future vehicles. Until electric vehicle technology beyond the Smart lineup is perfected, hybrids allow Mercedes-Benz models to balance efficiency and power that otherwise would be difficult to achieve. BMW is also focusing on technological advancement predicts customers at Used Cars Wichita, and perhaps the existing two-mode hybrid system may not be quite as forward thinking as the automaker demands.
